Recycling Week

20th – 26th September was National Recycling Week.

Across the week the children in school developed their knowledge and understanding and raised their awareness about the importance of recycling and the impact it makes on the world around us.

Across the week the children engaged in a variety of discussions and activities.

Reception children sorted pictures of different containers into correct coloured recycling bins and talked about why sorting rubbish in such a way was so important.

Year 1 children brought rubbish into school from home to sort by their material and they also made recycling posters.

Year 2 children learnt about using old materials and containers to make something new.  They engaged collaboratively in a junk modelling activity.

Year 3 children sorted items for recycling and created a recycling guide for others to use and learn about recycling.

Year 4 children made links with their history learning during Recycling Week.  They brought in recyclable materials and containers from home and used them to replicate Roman buildings.
