Remote education provision: information for parents

This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to pupils and parents or carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home.

What should my child expect from immediate remote education in the first day or two of pupils being sent home?

Initially your child may be sent home with a paper pack of materials that they can work through while we ensure that work is uploaded to Microsoft Teams. This will be in the form of a timetable with hyperlinks to pre-recorded lessons by staff or lessons on Oak Academy. Each day begins with a class assembly promptly at 9am. Children will also be sent Teams invites to live classes and small group work. Please check the Teams calendar daily. Teams can be accessed via the Teams app on the children's school iPads. We teach the same curriculum remotely as we do in school wherever possible and appropriate. However, we have needed to make some adaptations in some subjects to enable them to work successfully remotely. Children may work in their workbook and upload a photograph for evidence or may type directly onto the work on their iPads and submit this via Teams. Work is to be submitted at the end of each day.

In Early Years classes, activities will be set via Tapestry. All parents have a log in to Tapestry and will need to activate their account if they have not already done so. If you have any issues or difficulties please telephone school or email your class teacher on 0161 213 1235 or info@oasisclarksfield.org.

All children, parents and carers will receive a weekly call to ensure they are safe and well. Our HUB is on hand to support any families who need help during this time.
