Reception

In Reception we aim to promote a love of learning through purposeful play and a variety of focus groups. We build onto what the children have developed in Nursery to ensure our children have the best possible opportunities to achieve. We carefully plan to ensure children are ready for Year 1 and beyond. We have a brand-new therapeutic environment for your children to learn in where they feel calm, nurtured, happy, safe and ready to learn.

What does our day look like?We split our day into different learning opportunities, with some whole class learning with the teacher for Literacy and Numeracy, smaller group teaching for Phonics, focus group activities, small guided reading groups and lots of time exploring in different areas of provision. This enables all of the children to learn at their own pace and teachers tailor the learning to their interests and level of development at that moment in time.
