Winter Safety

Protective clothing

Layer up! Bitter cold and snow can cause frostbite. Please send you child to school dressed in several layers, and make sure their head, neck and hands are covered (ideally with a hat, scarf and gloves).

Outdoor play

Our wonderful site team will put salt or grit down to prevent children, staff and parents slipping. If the weather is particularly cold, icy or snowy, Mr Fowler will risk assess the playground to see if it is safe for the children to go outside.

School closures

If the risk assessment shows that it is not safe to open the school due to weather conditions, a text will be sent to all parents, and Class Dojo and the school website will be updated with any information about school closures.
